yesterday was my 35th birthday. i don’t even mind that i am officially in my mid-30′s. i thought that would be problem, but i don’t feel any different than I did last week, so it’s no big deal really. anyway, even though it’s MY birthday, you get a present too! for any session booked in the next 2 weeks (not held in the next 2 weeks, just booked), you get a disc of your images and three 8×10″ prints for only $450. a disc is usually $750, so this is a major saving. there are a few conditions though:

session is to be held at a location of my choice
your disc will contain approx 25-50 images
the total payment of $450 is to be made upfront to secure your booking
no changes will be made to your images, eg, if i have made an image b&w, i won’t be changing it to colour!
this special if valid for up to 4 people…for anymore than 4 it will be $25pp on top of the $450.

so get in quick!

and now for a few photos. i don’t often post photos of my boys on here as i like to keep my private and work life separate, however, i can’t make a post without a photo, can i? and i’m only adding in a snapshot too – my sister and i took the boys to the beach for a picnic lunch for my birthday and while we were there (shorncliffe) 2 dolphins came in close. we went out on the rock wall, and were literally metres from them. it was so cool. what a fantastic birthday present for me!

oh how i love big, brown eyes. they seriously are the best to photograph. i drool when i get clients with brown eyes. these guys just made my afternoon. tiahne and silas (i’ve spelt them wrong for sure) were so adorable. little silas didn’t give as many big smiles as he normally does, but that seems to be quite normal for a little bubba – they get dressed up and taken out of their “norm” and then get put in front of a crazy woman with a big, black thing in front of her face. i wouldn’t smile much either to be honest!! in any case, i love these photos, and i hope you guys do too!

karen and ernell, i’ll be in touch soon! thanks for a lovely afternoon.

I love holidays. love. them. and when my work takes me on a holiday, even better! this family session took me to byron bay, one of my favourite parts of the world. they were up for a dawn shoot, so we got that gorgeous light (thanks so much guys), so i was very grateful (and as tired as they were by the end of the day, i’m sure!). they soon became aware of my obsession with sunflare – i’m actually never up at this hour, so had no idea exactly how gorgeous the light was going to be…nor exactly how much flare i could manage in one session, lol.

thanks everyone for being so patient for me in getting these photos up – as you know, i’ve had a VERY eventful week. enjoy your sneak peek, and i’ll catch up with you soon.

I have had client ask many times before, “what exactly is a Storyboard?”. Well I often feel like a goose, because I’m very bad at explaining exactly what they are, so I decided to put some photos up here, so I can direct clients to these photos (after all, that’s what I do best!!!!).

So, this example is a 16×20″ mounted Storyboard. An unmounted Storyboard comes just as a normal print. They have 2 or more photos on them. And they look like this:

From the front:

The width of the mounting (20mm foamcore – you can get either black or white edges)

The back hangy thing (yep, that’s the technical term)

The front texture, that is also a laminate to protect the Storyboard

So, there you have it! A Storyboard. And I have many different templates for the design. Just contact me if you want any further information!

After a gorgeous bbq lunch, I had the pleasure of taking some more photos of little Chloe (down the bottom of the post) and her family. These guys are very good friends of ours, so it’s so wonderful to be able to capture them at the different stages of their lives. Please forgive the amount of photos but I just couldn’t help myself!

Little Chloe was the star of the day – gosh I just adore 6 month olds! It’s the absolute best time to photograph babies!

Phil and Shamus, thanks so much for yesterday, we had a great time! I won’t tell you about how I had to stick my fingers down Max’s throat before we’d even gotten out of your street because he was choking on a lolly! What an eventful afternoon!
