add a touch of me, and what do you get?

so to say i was terrified going into this session could very well be an understatement. 2 reasons why.

a) teenagers. 5 year olds, i’m cool with. i talk their talk. i walk their walk. it’s been a long time since i was a teenager. i don’t *know* them.

b) someone i kinda know. well, i had never actually met robin – but i have always known about her. her little sister sort of lived at my place back when we were teenagers (you know, back long enough that i don’t really remember it much). and i always get a bit nervous photographing people i know. not sure why really. just do.

so……this is robin’s amazingly gorgeous daughter’s, kate & sarah. bless them, they did everything i asked of them. even when i wasn’t sure if it was too daggy or not. like i said, i don’t *know* teenagers! girls, i’m so sorry if i made you do anything daggy. and thank you for not making me feel old and stoopid.

so this post is only a week late :s i have been working at the scrapbooking expo this weekend and spent most of the week getting ready for it……so i did have good intentions. my apologies guys. and i’ll keep it brief.

remember oliver? he got big!

so i’m a little behind in blogging at the moment, as i’ve been a busy little beaver. a beautiful wedding on friday, 2 gorgeous families yesterday (keep an eye out for them in the next few days), and today’s session was another gorgeous family. bridget, greg and jack are ever so sweet, and it took…oh, at least 3 seconds for jack to warm up to me!

enjoy!

my fave for sure! i love how it makes me smile every time i look at it!

butter wouldn’t melt, right?

well, everyone knows i love boys, so i always encourage the crazy faces!

parents never have enough photos of themselves. i do try and get at least a few every family session!

wow. not really sure where my time goes lately. i’ve got SO much to catch up on. editing, ordering, delivering, and most of all, blogging. after easter i took my boys out to my mum and dad’s, and also did a few sessions for family and friends….which i haven’t had time to blog yet. then i entered the queensland professional photographer awards and came out with 2 silvers (will blog about that another time). and more sessions. and weddings. and now to try and swim back to the surface and take a breathe, lol.

anyway. last saturday. do you remember luca from here, here, and a few other places on my blog? (yep, he’s a regular!!!). well, he’s back. and he’s one (or 14 months to be exact, we’ve been trying to get this session done for a while now!!!).

i won’t ramble. i’m no good at this talking stuff anyway. i’ll leave it up to the images to say everything i want to say!

thanks to zoe, paul, luca, emma and nick. enjoy, and i’ll talk soon xx

and lastly, my fave one. love everything about this, from the eye contact from luca, to the feather in nick’s hands….so cute!

well, we sure had nature working against us for this session. this is part ii, because of all the rain last week. and part ii, part i began at a wonderful location….that happened to have the biggest infestation of mozzies i have ever seen. so back in the cars for part ii, part ii. we still had to battle mozzies, and ants. but we battled through and made it work!!

it’s late and these guys are probably awaiting their sneak peek. thanks so much guys, i adore your girls. enjoy xx

isn’t hannah just delicious? i adore her.

i think this one might be my favourite from today? georgia might definitely be taking over as my new front page gal!

I swear her eyelashes grew in a week!

oh how i love outdoor newborn photos.

and all the family!

i love clients who come back to me. there is something wonderful about seeing kids grow up in front of my camera….steve and terri had me photograph hannah, and her photos still remain some of my favourite. in fact, hannah is the precious little newborn on my splash page, wrapped in the pink muslin. i know the image is over 12 months old, but i just can’t bring myself to replace it with another!

so, today i got to meet hannah’s little sister, georgia. i am going back next week, because the non stop rain we’ve had meant we couldn’t head outside for some family photos. fingers crossed it’s dry for next week!

terri and steve, was wonderful to see you again today, and to see hannah again. she’s wonderful…as is your new little addition!

my apologies…i will haven’t posted the remainder of my photo-a-day photos. things are crazy here. i had a workshop last week (exhausting, but wonderful), and am still trying to catch up on everything!

anyway, today’s session was held at the perfect time…only because we were lucky enough to miss both the rain before the session and the huge storm after the session! the gorgeous ruby held out in the heat so very well.

a few facts:

ruby is 10 months old today
she has 2 doating aunts that came along to help get the smiles!
she has 4 teeth
she can stand on her own and has taken a few steps
she has killer eyelashes
she also has killer eyes (look out mum and dad in 15 years time!!!)
she was so very happy (10 months is a wonderful age to photograph kids!)

as i was watching ruby do this to the flowers, her mum, melanie said something about how she loves how ruby picks things up…the two fingers are so cute!

thanks for a lovely morning, melanie. enjoy your sneak peek and i’ll be in touch xx

it seems i’m fast becoming the army-family-photographer-of-choice in brisbane! this is yet another amazing family who is about to say goodbye to a husband and father for 8 months. i gotta say, i’m so glad to be able to capture these memories for these wonderful families to look at and smile and laugh and remember and dream about the day they are all back together again!

a few fun facts:

– zane turned 2 today!
– he LOVED the water – the deeper the better!
– we all got soaking wet (hope your mobile survived, adam!)
– sonya got hit on by a drunk guy
– zane preferred rice crackers over my lollipops!
– i should bring chocolate next time! zane loved me for that 10secs of the sugar rush!
– this family is gorgeous!

all the best guys, and i’ll be in touch soon

ps, just realised I didn’t finish posting my photo-a-day photos here. will do that tomorrow!

_MG_7000

there were storm clouds rolling in…..with the sun peeking behind. gorgeous, isn’t it?
_MG_7261

the colours are a bit muted in this one, which i don’t normally do, but for some reason i loved it like this. something about all that white maybe?

i sometimes get worried about photographing girls…i don’t “know” girls, so worry i won’t know how to relate to them. i never worry like that with boys. i know that all i need to do is run with them, encourage stupid faces, or in taj’s case, get him to try and hit me with his scooter!

a few things (i’ve decided i’m better at dot points, lol):

– sarah has her own hair and beauty business (check it out here – she is amazing!).
– she also has 2 adorable boys, tyler and taj.
– she introduced me to this very cool tunnel, that is literally 5 mins from my house….i’ve driven over it a million times and never knew it was there!
– 2 year olds make you run
– 8 year olds love to pose
